God’s call to the Servant is both breathtaking and intimidating: to establish justice, to be a light to the nations, to bring people out of darkness, and to participate in something entirely new. It is a calling that stretches far beyond comfort or familiarity.

Yet this passage is just as much about assurance as it is about responsibility. God names the Servant as chosen and beloved, promising strength, endurance, and faithful presence along the way. To serve God is not only to be asked to do hard and sometimes risky things—it is also to be deeply cherished and upheld.

This sermon explores the tension between calling and support, reminding us that God never asks us to serve without also promising to sustain us.
