Art in the Parking Lot

For the 4th year in a row, an amazing team has led us in a ministry we are calling, International Christmas Card Art.  It's installed in our front parking lot, once again, for all to enjoy.

This project, International Christmas Cards Outdoor Art Exhibit, was first estabilished in 2021 at the height of the pandemic when we needed to extend Christmas greetings from a distance. We painted our greetings on plywood boards for everyone to see. The paintings stand 8 feet tall by 4 feet wide and are filled with glorious colors of Christmas from many different cultures.

Over the last few years, the people of BIUMC have felt called to continue painting Christmas greetings from around the world as a way to show our love for our communty, neighborhood, and the diversity that surrounds us here on Bethel Road.  Since 2021, the collection has grown to more than 46 boards, representing over 30 countries.

We are inviting you to take a stroll or drive through our parking lot to admire these beautiful works of art and all the hard work that has gone into this outdoor exhibit. Each board, new and old, stands tall during the daylight and is dramatically lit at night offering at least two reasons to visit more than once.
